The Design of our Democratic Republic of the Congo Tartan

The design incorporates the colours in the DRC flag and the Scottish Saltire, symbolising the bonds of friendship between the two countries. All of our tartan is woven locally with 100% British wool, and can be ordered by the metre or half metre. We can also create a bespoke DRC tartan product for you. Choose from a wide range which includes kilts, shawls, ties, cosmetic bags and more. They will be handmade in our workshop in the South of Scotland.

The Story behind our Democratic Republic of the Congo Tartan

The DRC Tartan is part of the Tartans for Africa Collection, designed to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Scotland and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This tartan played a vital role in generating income for humanitarian projects in the DRC, supporting initiatives that benefit local communities. The DRC Tartan symbolises the cultural connection between the two nations, offering a meaningful way to embrace solidarity and support.
